Hayden has invested heavily in technology including: a 24 double-sided HB shed (new in 2019) with ACR, in-shed feeding, auto drafting, auto weighing, and auto teat spraying; a new effluent system; smaXtec boluses; and auto calf feeders.
He also uses a variety of apps, including Trello which is part of his strategy for streamlining tasks on-farm, reducing work hours, and working “smarter not harder”.
And he has recently mapped the farm to assess areas for their potential to earn carbon credits. And he has other ideas in the pipeline…
We are going to have an in-depth look at how Hayden has set up his system, the tools and strategies he uses to run it, what benefits the various technologies offer, and what has and hasn’t worked for him. It hasn’t all come at a high cost, there are some low-cost solutions he has integrated that would slot into other systems.
