Sharpen Up Your System – Palmerston North, April 14th

SKU: N/A Categories: ,

Robert Ervine, DBOY finalist, is our host for this event where we are going to look into: improving your reproduction results, keeping a lid on costs, and strategies for successful regrassing.

Improving your reproduction results

Are you happy with your reproduction results this season? Is there room for improvement? Three seasons ago Robert’s 6 week in-calf rate was 58%; this season it was 74%. Fraser Abernethy, The Dairy Vet, will explain how Robert turned his results around, and how you can analyse your data and take action to make a positive difference on your farm.

Keeping a lid on costs

The payout is on the up this season, but costs are also rising. Do you have a good handle on them? Karl Jeffery, Headlands, will look into how you can analyse your finances, for example FWE, to see where you can make changes and futureproof your business.

Strategies for successful regrassing

Putting new grass in is an expensive process and you need to make sure it meets its potential. Learn top tips and strategies for getting the best out of your regrassing program. James Buckley, H&T, will talk about how to go about selecting the right pasture cultivars for your situation, and preparing for and growing great pasture that persists.
